Season Opener Bonspiel
The first bonspiel of the season happened on Nov. 11 at the Fergus Curling Club. The club offers an instructional few weeks called "Curling 101" to teach the proper technics to new curlersand then when the schooling comes to an end the club has a Season Opening Bonspiel for the new curlers. This year the Curling 101 had about 30 new curlers. This spiel joins the new curlers with more experienced curlers for a fun day and to have the new curlers enjoy the curling and fellowship of a proper bonspiel. This year it was won by the team skipped by Carl Gray with 331/4 points. On the left is Greg Moulton one of the organizers, Gloria Longshaw who played vice-skip, Chris Mochrie playing Lead, his wife Lauren Mochrie both new curlers, Carl Gray who was skip and Bonnie Talbot who was the other organizer.
