The Fergus Curling Club was established in 1834 and has operated every year since making it the oldest continuously operating curling club in Ontario.
We are a four sheet club of 260 members. There is a club room, bar, kitchen, and locker rooms. Much of the work around the club is voluntary with the exception of ice-making and caretaking.
The club is managed by a nine person board of directors elected annually from the general membership.
Online registration for the coming season is open. Registration deadline for returning curlers is October 5th.
The Board of Directors has changed the fee structure for 2013. The new fees will better accomodate those who are away for parts of the season and those who choose to curl in only one or two leagues.
The new structure is:
|$320.00||You can curl in as many leagues as you wish. Includes curling in both the Fall and Winter seasons.|
|$220.00||You can curl in as many leagues as you wish. Includes curling in either the Fall or Winter seasons.|
|$270.00||You can curl in one or two leagues. Includes curling in both the Fall and Winter seasons.|
|$180.00||You can curl in one or two leagues. Includes curling in either the Fall or Winter seasons.|
|Note:||If you register for any of the categories and then change your mind, you can alter your registration (as long as you do so before the seasonal cutoff dates) and pay the difference between the fees.|
|New curlers||$200.00||This fee is for someone who has never been a member of the Fergus Curling Club in the past. The capital fund is waived for the first year, a name badge is included, and, if you choose to join Curling 101, the fee is waived.|
|Friday Only||$200.00||This fee is for someone who is only curling in the Friday night mixed league.|
|Junior||$75.00||For curlers between the ages 12 to 19 inclusive curling in the junior league only.|
|Junior Adult||$120.00||For curlers between the ages 12 to 19 inclusive curling in the junior and some adult leagues.|
|Little Rocks||$75.00||For curlers between the ages 6 to 11 inclusive curling in the Little Rock league.|
|Social||$60.00||For those who are not curling but wish to maintain their connection with the club.|
The Open House for all age groups and leagues is Oct. 2 and 3 from 7 to 9pm. Come to the club to throw some rocks and catch up with old friends. Goldline products will be available.
All leagues are now in full swing for the 2013 Fall Session.
Winter League Sign-up sheets will be at the club before Nov 18th. Deadline for 2014 Winter session is Dec. 20th, 2013. Although we will try to accommodate all members, team placement cannot be guaranteed for anyone who registers after Dec 20th.
Check out the schedule in the league play section of the website for a list of the leagues available.
By popular demand, starting on Oct.15 8:30-10:00pm, Curling 101 is back. For more information...
Prices do not include HST. We have our fabulous free full colour newsletter for you to pick up.
Members new to the club will pay a first year fee of $200 for unlimited curling plus free access to the Curling 101 programme. New members are exempted from the Capital Fund payment.
A separate, refundable, volunteer cheque for $100 post dated to April 30, 2014 is required from all adult members.
Men and Women paying a full membership fee may curl in any combination of leagues available to them.
Every member of our club is a Club Member not just a league member.
